The world-class Simandou iron ore project officially commenced production.

The Simandou iron ore mine in Guinea recently held its commissioning ceremony in the port of Marebaya. Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya, Liu Guozhong (Special Representative of President Xi Jinping and Vice Premier of the State Council), Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and Gabonese President Nguema attended the ceremony.

As the world's largest and highest-quality iron ore mine, Simandou boasts unique advantages such as concentrated ore bodies, shallow deposits, and ease of mining. The commissioning of this project marks a significant shift in the global iron ore supply landscape.

Chinese companies play a crucial role in the Simandou project. In recent years, during the project's construction phase, XCMG has supplied Simandou with over 400 sets of complete equipment, including cranes, excavators, road rollers, electric mining trucks, and graders.

The XGE105, as the first electric mining truck to be installed in the Simandou mine, consumes only 4.2% of the energy of traditional fuel-fired mining trucks, while its operational efficiency is 1.6 times that of traditional fuel-fired mining trucks, effectively ensuring green mining practices at the Simandou mine.

Simandou is located in a tropical region, surrounded by virgin forests and mountains. The climate is humid, and the power supply is unstable, posing significant challenges to equipment operation and maintenance, including high temperatures, high altitudes, and high humidity.
