Pre-Delivery Inspection: The Final Quality Check Before Shipment

Our team recently traveled to the Jinan plant to carry out a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) for an upcoming shipment. Despite the scorching heat, we spent three hours outdoors in the vehicle yard conducting thorough inspections on the SHACMAN F3000 dump trucks and flatbed cargo trucks destined for Cameroon.

Every export vehicle must undergo a strict Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) before being loaded into containers and shipped. This is a critical step to ensure delivery quality and avoid disputes with overseas customers.

## What We Do

While the inspection process is streamlined, every key item is covered:

**Exterior Check** – Inspect the body for scratches or dents, ensure glass and lights are intact, and verify tire pressure is up to standard.

**Mechanical Check** – Confirm oil, brake fluid, and coolant levels meet requirements, check the undercarriage for damage or leaks, and ensure all critical bolts are properly torqued.

**Functional Test** – Verify smooth startup, test air conditioning, lights, wipers, infotainment screen, and other electronics for proper operation, and confirm brakes and steering are responsive.

**Document Verification** – Ensure VIN, mileage reading, and emission standards match the accompanying documents to guarantee smooth customs clearance.

## Why It Matters

Export vehicles undergo long ocean voyages with unpredictable conditions along the way. Pre-delivery inspection helps identify and address issues early, ensuring customers receive vehicles in optimal condition while also meeting the compliance requirements of destination ports for customs clearance.

Each inspection takes about 2 to 4 hours. Time spent on PDI saves future hassles and preserves customer trust. Getting this right means satisfied customers and sustainable business relationships.
