FAW Proposes to Establish 8 Wholly-Owned Overseas Commercial Truck Subsidiaries to Advance Global Strategy

FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle subsidiary of FAW, has announced a strategic proposal to establish eight wholly-owned subsidiaries across key international markets. The plan, approved at the 27th meeting of the 10th Board of Directors on July 1, aligns with the company’s ongoing implementation of its SPRINT 2030 internationalization roadmap.

The proposed investment, totaling approximately RMB 498 million yuan (68 million USD), would support the formation of local subsidiaries in Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and three other selected markets. The initiative aims to strengthen FAW Jiefang’s overseas presence, accelerate localization, and lay the foundation for long-term international growth.

The establishment of these subsidiaries is a powerful step in delivering on FAW Jiefang’s SPRINT 2030 strategy. It marks a new stage of international deployment that focuses on proximity to customers, sustainable growth, and long-term competitiveness in global markets.

Since launching the SPRINT 2030 strategy in December 2024, FAW Jiefang has made significant strides in international development, including the formation of FAW Jiefang Group International Automotive Co., Ltd., the acquisition of FAW Africa Investment Co., Ltd. and FAW Jiefang Automotive Tanzania Co., the signing of a large-scale cooperation agreement with GMM Indonesia, and the signing of a strategic MOU with a major South Korean partner.

These milestones highlight FAW Jiefang’s commitment to becoming a world-class commercial vehicle brand, delivering excellence in product quality, localized service, and global logistics solutions.

Looking ahead, FAW Jiefang will continue to advance its international strategy through six key pillars: globalized layout, multi-brand operation, technology leadership, business innovation, collaborative partnerships, and a people-first philosophy.

As the establishment of wholly-owned subsidiaries in eight countries progresses steadily, FAW Jiefang is forging ahead with confidence amid the tide of globalization, moving step by step toward its strategic vision of becoming the first in China and the first class in the World.

FAW is a leading global manufacturer of quality passenger cars, trucks, and buses. Established in 1953, the company is China’s oldest and largest automotive group. Annual sales exceed three million units.
